Introduction

There is a “Mindfulness” movement in the world today. It is gaining in strength and popularity as people become aware of its potential, and experience its success.

This is not before time. As humans, we tend to believe that either by design or evolution, we are the species at the top of the chain for rational thought.

However, a little study (and some introspection) shows that so much of what we do is simply either instinctive or patterned, repetitive behavior.

One of these is our eating behaviors, both in choices of food and the amounts we consume. We kid ourselves that we choose or decide what we eat, yet many are overweight and unhealthy.

So, did we decide to be that way? Or are we a little more thoughtless in our eating than thought? Or have we even thought about it?

Asking questions and seeking our own answers is what mindfulness is all about. Eating is one area where employing mindfulness will reap benefits way beyond the efforts expended, although some mental effort is certainly required.

Eating mindfully will give lifelong health benefits, help you lose weight and also boost your self-esteem and self-empowerment.

This eBook doesn’t dwell on why we need to change our eating behaviors, we are all aware of that. Instead it gives some insight into why we eat the way we do, and how we can take steps to achieve life-changing Mindful Eating.
